Hi guys. After getting into some bother 'experimenting' with my Xoom 2 I thought I had better come to where the knowledge is. I hope that somebody can point me in the right direction! Thanks in advance and keep up the good work.

[XOOM2] Driver issue?
Hi guys, first post, getting nowhere despite extensive searches.
Got MZ615-16 on ICS 4.0.4 UK model. Wanted to try and get JB 4.1.2 - managed that after some head scratching and a little bit of frustration (showed up as a US Verizon MZ617). Human nature made me want to try to reverse what i had done. I had followed the guide from xda forums to get to JB and the last lines told how to return to ICS. Yes i did have root and USB debugging was on (had checked so many times). On trying to replace the original cid using 'moto-fastboot flash cid cid.img', it seems like only part of the command executed (copy data but did not write? - sorry I am new to all this, haven't got the screenshot). Now the tablet wont boot.
AP fastboot screen shows:
Invalid Flash Mode (S) (Boot failure)
0A.74 (sha-db24cb6, 2012-04-25 10:52:50)
eMMC Info: Size 16G
Device is LOCKED. Status code 0
Battery Low
Cannot Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
Invalid CG OTV (CG: cdrom): Invalid SP data
Invalid CG HAB (CG: cdrom, status: 0X0056)
Invalid CG OTV (CG: cdrom)
If I plug in the factory cable and restart it gives the first line as 'AP Fastboot Flash Mode (S) (Flash Failure)
This shows Battery OK and OK to Program (due to the factory cable I guess) and shows USB Connected.
Major problem is now that the PC wont recognise the tablet. When I plug it in it makes the sound, and shows up in device manager as 'Mot Single ADB interface' and in Devices and Printers as 'Fastboot PASTEUR S' device. Have uninstalled/re-installed the official Moto drivers many times. Used front USB ports, back USB ports, Moto cable, 'Factory cable'.
In cmd prompt, 'adb shell' command just gives 'error:device not found'. If I could just get the PC to recognise it I might be able to do something with it but right now I'm stuck.
Can any of you experts out there advise?

No matter what recovery I flash, reverts to TWRP, sticks on splash screen
Ok, so I have an MZ601. Flashed with R.A.H._TWRPv2.6.3_BigPart_selinux and omni-4.4.2-20140321-1754+0100-everest-HOMEMADE (updated with latest omni versions as they became available).
Everything been working fine until two days ago, when Xoom froze. It had happened before a couple of times and a reboot had solved the problem. Did that, and this time it got stuck in a bootloop, only getting as far as the Omni splash screen before rebooting. Few reboots later, nothing improving, and then it didnt get past the Motorola M splash screen.
Tried booting into recovery, frozen at teamwin splashscreen. Nothing was working. Rebooted few time, same thing. Connected to power, charged til green, left for extra 30 minutes, tried again, same problem. Switched off. Came back to it today and....
All of the following done via Fastboot:
Tried flashing non bigpart TWRP (R.A.H._TWRPv2.6.3), still stuck at teamwin splash screen. Flashed Clockwork recovery, booted into recovery fine, but couldnt see memory card. Flashed Clockwork recovery touch version, same problem. Flashed back to TWRP non bigpart, and it booted into recovery fine, sdcard mounted fine, seeing all files. Excellent. Stupidly, instead of wiping cache etc, reverting partition and installing non big part ROM, decided to reboot and reflash bigpart version, used reboot option in TWRP, it tells me there is NO OS INSTALLED.
Ok, thats a bit odd. Must be corrupted or something, but might explain the original freeze and bootloop and then not even getting to Omni splash screen. Swiped to reboot. Flashed bigpart version of TWRP. Rebooted into recovery. Back to original problem, stuck at teamwin splash screen. Left it for 10 minutes just to be sure. No joy.
Tried retracing steps, flashing Clockwork recovery. Reboot. Teamwin splash screen. WTF? Try flashing Rogue recovery. Reboot. Teamwin splash screen.
Kinda confused. Its like its telling me its successfully flashed but it hasnt actually done anything. Power everything down, disconnect everything. Start again. Flash Clockwork recovery, reboot, displays teamwin splash screen, sticks. Flash TWRP, non bigpart, displays teamwin splash screen, sticks. Reboot. Flash TWRP bigpart. Reboot, displays teamwin splash screen, sticks.
Walk away in disgust so as not to throw something at Xoom.
TL-DR recap.
Worked fine for months
Two days ago, froze on Omnirom logo, got stuck in bootloop
After few reboots didnt even make it to Omnirom logo, stuck on M screen
Flashed TWRP recovery, non bigpart, stuck at teamwin splash screen
Flashed Clockwork recovery, got into recovery, no SDcard
Flashed Clockwork recovery, touch version, same problem
Flashed TWRP non bigpart, got into recovery, could see SDcard and files, rebooted from within recovery to flash bigpart version, tells me NO OS installed
Reboot
Now, regardless of which recovery I flash it goes straight to teamwin splash screen and stays there.
Anyone got any suggestions? I can't flash back to stock and restart because it's repartitioned for the Omnirom 4.4.2. rom and I can't get into recovery to revert partitioning.

i have just started having problems with my motorola xoom tablet. yesterday i turned my tablet on.the m appeared and then my desktop screen but then it shut down. i tried a few more times to try and get it to work and i managed to get my screen to open and as soon as i opened google it shut down again. i then did a factory reset and this seemed to work and i put all my apps back and everything seemed ok until the battery had run down, because soon as i had charged my tablet up and turned it back on the same thing happened the M appeared then it shut down. Is there anything else i can try.thanks

replacing LCD screen M601..are there differences??
Hi.
I dropped M601 XOOM and killed the LCD.
So ordered a replacement for MZ600 MZ601 MZ604 off EBay, that arrived today.
I pulled apart my XOOM and compared screens, but they are slightly different.
In the attached photo (mine.jpg) outlined in red my screen has a connector on one corner, opposite end of the circuit board. and the circuit board seems longer. the replacement (replacement.jpg) doesn't have the tab and the circuit board is shorter and slightly different laid out.
Anyone shed some light on the story??
Im in New Zealand and the screen came from Hong Kong... surely that wouldn't be the difference. the Xoom teardowns on the web all show the narrow screen connector
Thanks

Xoom (wi-fi) Driver Issues in Recovery
I got a Xoom for free a couple days ago, I decided I wanted to put KitKat on it, I didn't really like how 4.1 looked. I installed ClockworkMod Recovery on it to, but I can't push any files to it using 'adb push 'filename'', this is because adb does not recognize my device. I believe this is because there is no driver installed. In Device Manager it shows up as "Xoom" in the "Other Devices" dropdown. I've downloaded and installed the drivers previously from this link (https://motorola-global-portal.custh...ail/a_id/88481), but while in recovery, they don't seem to work. When I try to run the driver installer while in recovery, it does not install any drivers, and Windows cannot find any drivers. So, any suggestions?
Also I'm new and this is my first post, go easy on me

Problems with Motorola Xoom?
Today I went into the marketplace and its different. There is no best selling app section anymore, the pictures of the featured apps that used to be at the top isn't there either. Also when I go into the free apps or featured apps it only shows the first 20 and doesn't load any more. I can't click anything to make it load. Also the widget for the marketplace is glitched its only showing one app for all of the featured apps.
There is a problem with you tube as well. When watching the video it doesn't reach the end of the video, it stops about 5 seconds before.![]()
Please help, is it a problem with google's servers, is that why the marketplace is like this?

Start testing about 40 extremely well detailed cars from 6 categories: … If your car becomes too monotonous, you can change the body-kits with some better-looking and impressive ones, customizing different front and rear bumpers, skirts, wings and sometimes even hoods.
You will definitely not get bored driving the cars on over 10 tracks, each location being rendered in beautiful HD graphics for the different moments of the day. Xoom 2 faulty charge port
Hi guys,
So I have a Xoom 2 with the dreaded charging port problem. I am pretty sure it's not the charger, as I have tried another with the same issue.
Can anyone suggest somewhere I can send it to be repaired (I am in the UK), unfortunately I am out of warranty.
Thanks :-)

BigPart of the Reason it's a Soft Brick (but can flash to/interact with Recovery)
Long time listener. Was jazzed to flash OmniROM as the new hotness, but guess I didn't read the fine print well enough - now have what may be a soft brick.Might've happened bc I flashed CWM (bad assumption that that was needed in order to get into Recovery to yadda), then flashed TWM (before BigPart Repartition), which seemed at first to work (could interact with its menu and execute commands)...but error messages appeared about not being able to wipe Delvik nor mount /data. Then, got stuck at the Dual Core red boot logo, but could flash to and interact with custom Recovery. So, flashed latest CWM - again, can interact with and execute commands, but upon reboot, the same red dual core boot image (toward which I am beginning to foster resentment). Have flashed to TWM and CWM twice now to no avail; was going to try a third with extra care to wipe wipe yadda, but thought to pause and search first. Searched for help (great one with steps to flash back to stock here). Tried flashing back to stock (tried both HRI66 and HRI39: see, I do not rightly know which one, since...well I cannot get into the device to see the system details (assuming it makes a difference). Still, I gleaned from a few posts that it wouldn't be too terrible to try either) - but still no love from my Xoom. Was going to try again, but thought to pause and post first.Which (hopefully) brings you to this one word in my post: mercy (or help). Saw a few soft-bricked, stuck-at-the-infernal-dual_core had had luck after trying to flash to stock repeatedly until it took. Will happily do so, but would feel better if better minds had better advice. In advance, thanks.Servio
