Vol down button doesn't work... probably my fault

After I finished replacing the glass on my XOOM, I discovered that the vol down button no longer responds (the power button and vol up both work properly). I opened up the case and reconnected the relevant ribbon cables, but the vol button still does not respond. It worked before I replaced the glass. I'm stumped... and frustrated.

Any suggestions?

Battery charging problems with my Xoom II

Hi all here, would appreaciate some help and feedback on the charging problems Ive been having with my Xoom II 10" tablet, here is my story.
Recently for the past few days I have been having on/off problems with charging the battery in my Xoom II and it started about less than a week ago, or lets say close to a week.
One evening before I went to bed I decided to put my Xoom on charge as per usual and it was down to 10%, the next morning when I woke up the charge was only up to 15% and just stayed there. a day later or that evening I managed to charge and get it back up to 100% which was great than after I had used it for a while and when it dropped down to 40% I decided to try and recharge it again and I was back to square one, infact this time after charge the batt dropped by 5%. This time the charging was not stable and kept fluctuating.

I thought perhaps the Motorola charger was faulty and tried it very quickly on my Samsung Galaxy Note II and it did show that it was charging, so I ruled that out. i did deide to try and charge the Xoom with a Samsung 2A 5V USB charger and someone it seems to help and work but not all the time, once again fluctuating.

Now its got worse and today when I tried to charge it it was from 0% and went up to 20% and that was it and would not seem to hold charge at all. I took it to work with me and left it on charge and after a period of 2 hrs it still showed 20% if not dropped to 5%.

Some Questions

I have noticed near the charge port when ever I plug the charger in a white led light comes on, note that this light is near the charge port not the other message indicator LED light or notification light.

The other funny thing is when ever I plug a samsung or some generic brand charger in the xoom I get an error popping up telling me that this charger is not optimised to be used on tthis tablet etc etc, but I mean really speaking isnt a 2.0Amp USB charger a USB charger regardless of brand. I can use another generic 2amp charger on my Note II and dont have any probs at all, so sorry bit confused here..

just got my motorola xoom 10.1 4g verizon tablet. when i open up and unlock a message pops up saying unfortunaly android keyboard has stopped (aosp), i've tried reboot, factory reset, clearing the data and cache, nothing has helped, I can't type anything and google playstore not in my apps. any thoughts, thanks, Rodger...

Motorola xoom MZ601 not charging

My xoom MZ601 is not charging. The very thin charging pin feels wobbly when you put it in. I cant find a replacement charger in the UK on ebay or amazon. (that doesnt get posted from the US) Any ideas? I am in Cambodia just now and need to send one here.
My other idea is get a charging dock. I prefer this as not sure whether the cable is broken or the zoom power input is faulty.
All docks are supplied without a cable. My question is - what cable do I need for a charging dock. The main part of my cable should be fine as the light is on the adapter. Does the dock take the thicker charging pin you get when you remove the small adapter cable or the ultra thin one which is broken. Thanks for your help.

Unable to conect PC to XOOM MZ605

Hi I am with problems connecting my Xoom MZ605 with USB cable to my PC desktop.

I installed "Motorola Helper" and "Motorola Device Manager" and drivers and all my pc discovers and install controlers and in the device manager only appears "Motorola USB Networking Driver" under "network".. Theres nothing more showing up. Nothing called portable devices or an icons MZ605...

Before I installed the software there was a yelloy caution sign saying "Unkonwn device" under USb devices tab. In Windows explorer nothing comes up related to the xoom...

I am connectiuon the xoom with usb cable to an extension cable thats is hooked in the back of my desktop.

UPDATE: I have deleted all controlers of this Motorola USB Networking drivers and now I have a yellow triangle in "MZ600" coming up under "Other Devices" tab.. dont know what to do now..

Dear all,

I have Motorola Xoom MZ601, my location is in Indonesia and the unit is officially was available here, now, my question is, is there official update for my unit, since I'm now using EOS ROM but it's running a bit sluggish and want to use the official stock 4.1.2 ROM for Motorola Xoom.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you. :D

Software upgrade download/install cancel

I have a XOOM WIFI (Android 3.0.1) which was manufactured in Southeast Asia (according to Motorola). I found out about this when it was too late to return it for a replacement.

I have been told not to attempt to apply US software upgrades because they are not compatible with my XOOM. By mistake a couple of days ago I clicked on a message to INSTALL rather than LATER on a software upgrade notice. My WIFI was not connected at the time so my XOOM now has a notification message waiting for me to connected WIFI to proceed with the download. I have not been able to cancel this message or download. The only way I see to keep it from happening is NOT to connect WIFI.

Does anyone have a way to cancel this download? What exactly would happen if I let the download and install proceed?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Xoom boot problem

Hi
I have recently bougth a xoom. it was working fine but had all the previuos owner setup on. I did a factory reset and now it just boots to a screen with bubbles on and what looks like chinese writing on and just stays there locked!. I cant see it when connected to PC, so i assume usb debug is off. Is there a way I can get this working again?

Recovery does not exist after flashing

Hi,

I was wondering if someone would help me to put that all in order...

I bought Xoom. Someone installed CyanogenMod on it. I flashed ClockWorkMod recovery but it wasn't working.
When I was booting into it, I just saw android logo with pieces coming out of his stomach... suggesting some problem...

I left it like that for 2-3 months as I had not time to deal with it.

Today, I used 'fastboot erase recovery' to remove the CWM and flashed (apparently?) good recovery manager TWRM BigPart 2.6.3.

Now when I boot into recovery I don't see any - just a boot loop.

What could have happen ? Why I am unable to flash and boot into recovery ?

I've owned a Xoom for a while now, I'm Happy with it! It is far better then lugging around a laptop, it takes the rough handling it gets being put into gear bags, pockets, turnout pants and being in and out of ambulances, hospitals etc, for many hours. Had to jury-rig a vvehicle charger & replace the cable a few times, more wear and tear then anything else.
I put a 32 GB sdcard in, but I'm not familar enough with the device to transfer the pictures, music and nice to have but nonessentials to it, hense my coming here. The Xoom recognizes the card, but hasn't put anything not it (yet) Any help anyone can give me would be welcome! I will take a good look around and see if I can't find an answer. Anyway, nice to meet you! Cheers!

Did i brick my device?

Hello, it's me again.
I had my deviced rooted and had twrp installed on my xoom (4g) device.
I wanted to install CM 11 (4.4.4) on it and i followed the instructions that i could.
It said i needed twrp bigpart edtion. So i found the file that said twrp bigpart edtion and it said to wipe the device before doing and i did. i flashed it. I then rebooted it and i had to go back into the recovery to see if it worked and it did. it then said to flash the cm 11 file. i tried to flash it. it said that my device was not bigpart partitioned but it was....well i thought about giving up for a bit and i tried just getting back into my device to use facebook a bit but my device is stuck at the dual core screen and it wont go past it. i even tried wiping and factory resetting but now it says no os is installed.

so now i know that no os is installed on my device how do i fix my issue? is it bricked? what do i do? all i freaking want is CM 11 on my device. I dont know what to do or where to turn. iv researched so much and i still could not install it correclty. adb and fastbook is on my computer btw. i do not have a sd card reader so putting things on my mico sd card through my computer is a no go. only through usb can i do it. i tried adb sideload and stuff. nope. .......someone just help.

Pushing files to my internal sd card through fastboot/sdk?

I am in a bit of a situation with my moto xoom. It is stuck in recovery mode. I completely wiped it, thinking I would be able to install a new os on it. Come find out my recovery (twrp) is not letting me access any of my files. Is there a way to push files to my internal sd card while stuck in recovery mode?
