Xoom Battery Replacement

The battery in my Xoom MZ604 tablet is nearing the end of its life - and I'm hoping this doesn't mean my Xoom is too.

Does anyone know of an online retailer who sells the correct replacement battery for the MZ604?

Failing this, does anyone know the "official" part number / battery type for this tablet? (I'm trying to avoid having to take it apart more than once.)

Motorola Xoom: This screen size is not supported.

I just heard the news about the support for Android tablets, but got frustrated when I tried to install it on my motorola xoom (installer ver 1.1.26483 (12.15)) and it gave me the error "ERROR: This screen size is not supported. (..)". The resolution for the Xoom is among the supported resolutions.

Logcat only shows me these two messages:

D/SwypeInstaller(13147): Disconnect being called
D/SwypeInstaller(13147): Exception getting download Data from serverorg.json.JSONException: Value false at versions of type java.lang.Boolean cannot be converted to JSONArray

Help?

I have built Android 4.2.2 from AOSP and produce a working ROM. Currently there is no big problem and can be used as a daily driver. Please report in this thread if you encounter any problems.

Working link to SBF file?

I was trying to root my device yesterday but I don't have a MicroSD card and I don't know where things really went wrong or what model of Xoom I have. It is stuck in a boot loop on the splash screen and I am trying to follow the steps to flash it back to a stock image with RSD but I cannot for the life of me find a working link to an SBF file. Any help?

Edit:
I just connected via RSD and it says that the model is a S Flash MZ602 if that helps anyone.

I am in need of help with my sons Motorola Xoom (Original Tablet)
His teacher asked to borrow it to put some software on it and it seems he did not know what he was doing. It has come back rather broken in that it is stuck in a boot loop!!

I have been through all normal processes to resolve this to no avail I have perform searches on the internet to help identify processes to help resolve this and have found possibility’s but do not have the skills to complete these (with 3 young children it is rather busy)
It is not worth me taking it to a shop as they will charge me as much as it would cost to buy a new one however I thought I would call upon the experts in Xoom Formum to see if anyone in Bristol UK or other areas locally would be able to advise who could do this work for me I am will to pay a little???
Nothing ventured nothing gained and as it is already Bricked it cant really get any worse :0)
So below is the main points I have completed a thousand times
Perform a factory reset using external keys
Note: It is highly recommended you use the above factory reset using the settings. Making a mistake using the factory reset using external key method could have very bad consequences.
If you are unable to navigate through the menu to perform a factory data reset, you can follow the steps outlined below:
1. Turn tablet off. You may need to use two hands in this process to press and hold buttons properly.
2. Turn on the tablet with power button, wait a full 2 seconds from the time the tablet starts showing the red Motorola logo, then press and hold the down Volume key. (you should not hold down the power button after it turns on and logo appears)
3. "Android Recovery" will appear on top of screen if timing is done correctly. Release volume button. (if you continue to press volume down at that message, the message will cycle through "RSD, Fastboot, and back to Android Recovery. Make sure message states Android Recovery before you go to next step). If stuck at a RSD protocol or Fast boot screen, reboot the tablet by holding power button then pressing the volume up).
4. While screen states "Android Recovery", Press volume up button, the screen will say "Entering Android recovery mode" and a few seconds later an Android robot graphic will appear alone on the screen. Release buttons.
5. Hold down power button and then press the volume up key together to see the Android Recovery screen menu selections.
6. Use the volume buttons to move up and down through selection in this menu.
7. Using the volume down button, scroll down to “Wipe data/factory reset”
8. Tap Power hard key to select option.
9. Scroll down to select “Yes, delete all user data”.
10. Tap the power button to select. Wiping and formatting data will take a few minutes.
11. You will return back to the Android recovery screen menu.
This has been completed with and without memory card
So the next thing that I though may be possible is the below?
1. Let give it a shot to try to flash Official Firmware. Hope this help
When you see "Starting Fastboot Protocol", try to flash the Official firmware.
What you need to download and what you need to do?
A. Xoom USB Driver: Download and Install: here
Using original Xoom USB Cable that come with your Xoom is advisable
B. Set Up Easy ADB On Your PC: Need for this process.
1. Download the EasyADB(SDK_tools.zip): here
2. Extract the SDK_tools.zip files
3. Copy the extracted SDK_tools folder
4. Navigate to the root of your PC C: drive
5. Paste SDK_tools folder to the root of your PC C: drive
Download the Motorola Xoom Official Stock files/images from the link, Unzip/extract the file and place the contents in the EasyADB/SDK_tools folder:here
Open command prompt in Windows Start icon (in search textfield type in cmd and press enter)
Once command prompt pop up,type:
cd C:\SDK_tools
adb reboot bootloader
>>>> Xoom will then reboot into bootloader screen
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash userdata userdata.img
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem lock
Use volume rocker to select ok and then xoom will reboot.
At this point you should be back to a factory state which includes being locked.
If anyone has any ideas or has the skill to help me get this done I would be very very very very greatful

wifi drop out

Hi,i have xoom mz 604. and it has been useless due to wifi issues.well as motorola cant be bothered to correct the dropout probs.i had many many attempts to do it myself. and found that clearing all my files and doing a factory reset seems to have done the trick.i also changed the channel on the bt hub 3 to smart wifi,which is channel 1, i had changed it many times before reset.and it did nothing.so fingers crossed and hope this helps some other poor mug who bought motorola,rather than an apple.( jus.t to mention it worked fine for about 2years.

upload photo to Instagram

my xoom will not upload photo to Instagram. after processing the photo picture is displayed "black"

error format/data

Hi,
I tried to upgrade my xoom MZ604 to kitkat 4.4 but it failed. Then I restored my xoom Jelly bean but I got a trouble because I forgot back up. The trouble is when i wipe Dalvik cache it displayed Error Format/Data and now my Xoom did not reboot even if I installed EOS and gapps. Can anyone help me out? Thank you.

App won't download games no matter the wifi source

good day everyone, I wanted to see if I could get some help on an issue that I'm having with my Motorola Xoom version 1. I have an app that I use called pinball arcade. You have to download the app, and once you download the app you can install the individual games on there. I can download the app, but the games will not download no matter what I do. I've use my wifi at home and I've also used a hotspot, and neither will work. I tested the app on my samsung galaxy 4 phone, & I was able to download the games fine using the same WiFi. So I can only imagine that there's something going on with the same tablet that is keeping the game from downloading.any ideas?
