Navigation and home buttons not working after flashing with cyanogen rom + others

The Problem I have with my xoom is after flashing the navigation button stop working ater a few minutes. This happens with cyangenmod 10, 10.1 using recovery.
CM10.1_wingray_BigPart_boot_image, eos4_wingray_BigPart_boot_image, omni-4.4.4-20141130-1724+0100-everest-HOMEMADE using omni-4.4.4-20141130-1724+0100-everest-HOMEMADE. Wiping, reparitioning all goes fine. I'm using an sd card to wipe/flash/install all images/files. My computer runs linux, I know that I can but apart from the nav,home etcthe install does what its suppose too. so have never connected the tablet to use adb. I'm by no mean an expert but comfortable following instructions for these install/flashing.

Baseband version N_01.100.07P
Kernel version

Stuck on Android Recovery During Root Attempt

I bought a Xoom WiFi shortly after they were available to the US market.
It has always been totally reliable and trouble free.
It is (was??) currently completely stock and running 4.1.2.
With the exception of one application (Olive Tree Bible Reader 6.0) it runs everything I want to with no problems.
I have a Nexus 5 and bought a Nexus 9 open box at Best Buy as I wanted something more powerful than the Xoom. However, after a week I returned the Nexus 9 as I didn’t care for the smaller screen size.
I considered rooting thee Xoom and trying to overclock it to get some more power.
I tried the instructions found here:

in the section: Rooting Jellybean 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 OTA
It seemed to be going along fine until I got to the part:

Once you have verification on your device that this has been flashed:
- Reboot your device by holding Volume Up + Power.
- Then 3 seconds after you see the "Motorola logo", hit Volume Down.

You should now see "Android Recovery" at the top left corner.

- Hit Volume Up to boot/enter into recovery.

When I try to go into the Android Recovery mode it starts and says
Entering Android Recovery Mode

Then I get this guy:




All I wanted to do was a simple root so that I could do an overclock as described here:
How to Overclock the Motorola Xoom TheUnlockr

Any help in getting me unstuck to finish the root and overclock would be greatly appreciated.
If I just do a restart it comes up fine but all my apps are gone and it thinks it's a new tablet.
I'm not concerned about restoring the apps as that's not a big deal but before I give up on the root / overclock and set it back up I want to see if anyone can help me.

Updating UK Xoom to Android 4.1 or newer

Now that BBC iPlayer does not support downloads on 4.0.4 is there anyway to upgrade to 4.1 or newer?

Also I can't get into Google Play store, I get the no connection retry message which is annoying. I suspect these two situations are connected.

I purchased a Motorola zoom today and got home and when I try to turn it on it says clockwork mod recovery with the android logo. Can anyone help me with getting it back to its factory state please

Hello everyone, thanks for accepting my. I have a problem with my tablet, a few days ago i was using the tablet before go to sleep, it was running perfect, i went to sleep and in the morning the tablet was totally dead, it does not light the charge led, only with small chargers and in the computer usb, but only for a few minutes, i took it to a repair shop and the guy said that he can not do anything because the frimware is damaged and motorola didnt make public those drivers, so guys i m begging for your help. thanks everyone and sorry for my crap english.

Rooted Demo2-MZ617

I rooted my Demo2-MZ617 (android 3.2) a while back and recently did a factory data reset. Now I cant download or update anything from the play store. I get the error: Error retrieving information from server RPC:S-7:AEC-7.
I've cleared cashe, cleared data and uninstalled updates for download manager, google play store and google services framework. I've also tried the date/time trick. Deleted my google account, added it back, added a second one and reset the tablet many times. I've done 4 factory resets now with the same results. And a one hour call with google to find out that they dont have an answer either(was hoping it was an issue with my accounts).
And I just noticed that my PC wont recognize it anymore. So, I am at a total loss as to why these things are happening.
Any ideas?

I Have been trying to root my XOOM WIFI mz604, but after unlocking, when I go to fastboot flash recovery, it does not work. It reports that it couldn't mount the file. When i try to open the file{recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cmg.img} I get[This disc image is corrupt] I have tried numerous times to download a good recovery but not succeeded. I'm new to this and think I may be making a stupid error. Any help would be greatly apprecited.

I have two Xooms and minecraft has stopped working. I have tried clearing the cache and reinstalling but all I get is a black screen.

Anyone else experiencing the same thing?

How to root Motorola Xoom Android version 4.1.2

Guys I need help on how to root my Motorola xoom without using a PC. This is because when I connect my xoom to a pc nothing happens I tried different cables and different PCs
Finally I tried to have the USB pot replaced but to no avail.
My device is infected with multiple virus including monkey test. Engrik. Time service etc. When I try to remove it always come back after restart. I need help please.

Wingray wont boot

Hi Guys, Been a while since i visited the idea of Upgrading the xoom etc, but all seemed to go well, apart from when booting up it's stuck on the omni logo which is just blinking at me, like its taking the micky lol, also some of the links to the files are dead, one thing i have seen about which i dont have the file for is BigPart boot image, is this not the same as the wingard Rom, if not where can i get this file, any ideas would be welcome.
What i currently have on the sd card are these apps

TWRPv2.8.6.0-Wingray-BigPart
pa_gapps-modular-full-4.4.2-20131230-signed
omni-4.4.4-20141130-1704+0100-wingray-HOMEMADE

I have read there are 4 apps that should be present, but when searching for the bigpart wingray boot image zip file, it seems to be a false link on the relevent thread


If this is not the 4th file i need, can some one point me in the right direction please

Bricked device - can it be unbricked?

Hi!
Well, I bricked my old Xoom verizon mz600 when trying to put a new mod on it. I unlocked it and rooted it with no problems. Flashed recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.img. After that I couldn't reset the device and it wasn't running smooth. So I thought I would change the device back to stock. Downloaded a zip with system.img, boot.img, restore.img, adb.exe etc. and a xoom_restore.bat ran it. When rebooting the xoom it just displays:

Failed to boot LNX 0x0004
starting RSD mode 2
Onewire: Charger is connected...
Battery charge level: 55%

Tried the RDS lite with different sbf files. Cant find one for the mz600 so tried others. It fails that it cannot re-enumerate with device?

So what does this mean? Is my Xoom fully bricked?

Xoom won't boot after freezing up

when trying to restart Xoom after freezing, I used the normal method with power key and volume up. This time the Motorola logo came up for a few seconds and then the colored swirls started like always. Now, the colored swirls just continue to run for long periods of time. Eventually when the start screen comes up and I slide the lock to open it goes right back to the start process with the Motorola logo and the colored swirls. I can't get it to boot and stay on. Any ideas? Thanks.
